Managing Existing Containers

After creating containers, you can manage them from the main Container tab in the Manage section.

Container list overview

The container list displays all your registered containers in a table format with the following columns:

Container number

  • Shows the unique container identification number.
  • Examples: CDEU12345678, MSCU9876543.
  • This is the primary identifier for tracking and reference.

Line

  • Shows the shipping line that owns or operates the container.
  • Helps identify which carrier’s equipment is being used.

Type of container

  • Displays the container size and type.
  • Examples: 20' Standard, 40' Standard, 40' High Cube.
  • Critical for cargo planning and rate calculations.

Tare weight

  • Shows the empty container weight.
  • Examples: 2000, 3800.
  • Used for calculating total cargo weight and compliance.

Action column

  • Edit icon (pencil) – Modify container details.
  • Delete icon (trash) – Remove the container from the system.

Editing a container

  1. Locate the container in the list using the container number.
  2. Click the edit icon (pencil) in the Action column.
  3. The container form will open with all existing information populated.
  4. Make your desired changes to:
    • Line assignment (if container transfers between carriers).
    • Size and type (if incorrectly entered).
    • Tare weight (if measurement was corrected).
  5. Click See the preview to review changes.
  6. Click Save to update the container information.

Deleting a container

  1. Locate the container in the list.
  2. Click the delete icon (trash) in the Action column.
  3. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Warning
Only delete containers that are not associated with active shipments or bookings. Deleting a container that is in use may cause tracking and documentation issues.
