Individuals work in conjunction with Companies in Portmasters.

How individuals and companies relate

• Individuals represent specific people.
• Companies represent business entities.
• Individuals can be assigned as Contact persons for companies.
• One individual can be linked to multiple companies (e.g., if they work with several organizations).
• This separation allows you to track personal contact details separately from company information.

Workflow

1. Create the Individual record first.
2. When creating or editing a Company, select this individual as the Contact person.

Best practice
Create individual records for all key contacts at companies you work with. This makes it easy to find the right person regardless of which company relationship you’re managing.
